May 18, 1916: "Notice is hereby given, that the County Court of Tillamook County, Oregon, will receive bids for the construction of a 100-foot covered wood bridge, across the Big Nestucca River, on the Blaine, County Road, located in the S.W. 1/4 of Section 26, Township 3 South. Range 9 West, of the Willamette Meridian, the same being Bridge No. 5. on said road.
Bids are to be filed not later than Saturday, the 20th day of May, 1916, at 10 o'clock A.M. in the office of the County Clerk, and must be accompanied by a certified check equal to 5 per cent of the amount of the bid." (Cloverdale Courier)

August 3, 1916: "The bridge builders have completed work on the Blaine bridge and the County Court is viewing the same today. Should the Court decide to have the bridge covered the builders will remain another week." (Cloverdale Courier)
August 17, 1916: "Notice is hereby given, that the County Surveyor for Tillamook County, Oregon, has filed in this office his certificate for the completion of the contract of Mallory, Haas and Blum, on the Blaine bridge No. 5, in accordance with the plans and specifications, and any person, firm or corporation, having objections to file to the completion of said work, may do so within two weeks from the date of the first publication.
