February 16, 1888: "Repairs on Minter bridge: Ordered that advertisement for bids, plans and specifications, to be considered at next term of county court." (The Independent)
February 16, 1888: "In accordance with chapter LXXVI., Title V, Section 4141--sealed Plans, Specifications and Bids for Repairs on the 'Minter Bridge,' will be received at the County Clerk's office, until Thursday, March 8th, 1888, at the hour of 1 o'clock p.m. The repairs to consist of New Bridge, commencing at the Bent, about 297 feet north of the piling portion of the bridge, north of the river. Length of the portion to be rebuilt is about 470 feet, and is to be at least 20 inches higher than formerly. By order of the County Court. Rodolph Cradall, County Judge." (The Independent)
January 19, 1894: "During the wind storm of the first of the week, a tree was blown across the Minter bridge, across Tualatin river and one of the fifty-foot spans broken down. The supervisor of the district, with a crew of men, are repairing it. Travel will not be long stopped." (Hillsboro Independent)
June 5, 1896: "The Minter bridge across the Tualatin river is and will be closed to travel for the next three weeks on account of repairs that now are making." (Hillsboro Independent)
August 27, 1896: "T.M. Kelso, who was injured on the evening of July 3rd, by falling from the Minter bridge, is suffering a slight relapse, owing to an attack of fever, superinduced by the usual midsummer complaints." (The Hillsboro Argus)
May 24, 1906: "Herman Claussen, working with J.C. Hare at the Minter bridge, was in town Tuesday morning." (The Hillsboro Argus)
April 23, 1908: "A farmer living on the Minter bridge road, south of town, is authority for the statement that the Minter bridge is in a dangerous condition for travel." (The Hillsboro Argus)
June 11, 1908: "Sealed bids will be received by the County Court of Washington County, Oregon, until 2 0'clock p.m. of the 20th day of June, 1908, and then opened, for the construction of the Minter bridge across the Tualatin river, 3 miles southeast of Hillsboro.
Each bidder will be required to deposit with his bid a certified check for 5 per cent of the amount of such bid. By order of the County Court. J.W. Goodin, County Judge. Dated June 5, 1908." (The Hillsboro Argus)
June 12, 1908: Regular monthly Commissioners' meeting: "Bids on Minter bridge -- J.D. Tossury, $2540; E.D. Geer, $2797; D.B. Reasoner, $2914. Ordered that all bids on the Minter bridge be rejected and that the county judge be instructed to advertise for bids to be opened on June 20, 1908." (Hillsboro Independent)
June 25, 1908: "The County Board held a session last Saturday to open bids for new bridges over Tualatin and Dairy Creeks, and to transact other business. The bid for building the new structure to span the Tualatin on the site of the old Minter bridge were: C.P. Long, McMinnville, $2883: D.B. Reasoner, $2746.13; J.S. Lorsung, $2995. J.S. Lorsung, being the lowest bidder, was awarded the contract." (The Hillsboro Argus)
July 16, 1908: "J.S. Lorsung, who has the contract for building the Minter bridge, will begin driving piling for the new structure today. He expects to complete the bridge within six weeks, and says that travel on the old bridge will not be delayed more than two days. The new bridge is to be built below the old one." September 3, 1908: "Contractor Lorsung, who has the contract for the new Minter bridge, expects to finish the driving of the piles, this week. Supervisor Kelsay will soon begin work on the fill, which is about 100 yards in length." (The Hillsboro Argus)
