September 8, 1933: "Work on the Little Lobster bridge, in Lobster valley has been completed by Contractor Roberts, except the cover, which will be put on before the heavy fall rains start." (Corvallis Gazette-Times)
October 8, 1957: "One hundred foot concrete bridge tucked in the hills of southwest Benton county has been completed, doing away with the tiny red covered bridge. Built at cost of $21,500, the new bridge eliminates the hazard where it crosses Little Lobster creek in lower Lobster Valley. Fills for approaches to bridge were put in by Alsea Lumber company while mill was closed down for fire hazard. Some work remains to be done before job is completed." (Corvallis Gazette-Times)
