July 17, 1930: “Work has commenced on the construction of a bridge across the Molalla river near Canby. This point has been served by Good's bridge for the past thirty years.

August 6, 1931: “The fire at Good's bridge has been investigated by Fire Chief E.L. Surfas of Oregon City, who is convinced that the blaze was set. He has turned the matter over to the state police. During the fire someone broke into the contractor's tool house, and equipment valued at $1,000 was lost. Damage to the span is estimated at $1500.
Nearby campers saw a camp fire near the bridge earlier in the evening and were awakened about midnight by the explosion of a 50-gallon drum of gasoline. The gasoline was being used by the contractor, Philip Hult.
Travel from south to Canby will again have to be routed over the old bridge which was reconditioned after the flood wrecked the new structure last winter.” (The Molalla Pioneer)
