February 7, 1890: "The Richardson bridge across Crabtree creek and the Jordan bridge across Thomas creek were washed out by the recent floods." (Albany Daily Democrat)
April 7, 1890: "Notice is hereby given that at the next regular term of the County Court, for Linn county, Oregon, to be held at the Court House in the city of Albany, on Wednesday, the 9th day of April, 1890, sealed plans, specifications, strains, diagrams and bids will be received for building a bridge across Thomas Creek, known as the Jordan bridge, one span eighty-five feet, piers or bents to be four feet higher than before, approach at one end to be fifteen feet long, and at the other end forty-five feet long."
