July 13, 1906: "Notice is hereby given that the County Court of Polk County, Oregon, will receive sealed bids for the construction of an 86-foot span bridge over Mil Creek, at a point known as the Blair bridge. Plans and specifications are on file in the County Clerk's office. Bids will be opened on Wednesday, August 1, 1906, at 2 o'clock p.m. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check for 5 per cent of the amount thereof. The Court reserves the right to reject any or all bids. E.M. Smith, County Clerk." (Polk County Observer)
August 3, 1906: "Contract for the construction of the Blair bridge on Mill Creek, awarded to Ira Mehrling, the lowest bidder: bridge to be built with solid hewn cords, and covered; amount of bid, $714." (Polk County Observer)
June 6, 1911: "County Judge Ed F. Coad and Commissioners Riddell and Petre took a 70-mile jaunt over the roads of the county last Wednesday. They went to the Blair bridge which is to be repaired by setting the supporting piers on a concrete foundation, rising to the mean height of the water." (Polk County Observer)
