ABERNATHY
February 13, 1890: "Council Proceedings: "The matter of repairing the Abernathy bridge was referred to the committee on streets and public property with instructions to confer with the county judge and with authority to act." (The Enterprise)
February 20, 1890: "Work was begun yesterday morning upon the Abernathy bridge. Joseph Hedges being in charge of the force of men. The approach upon this end is gone, and the further section, and with its support nearly mired. Mr. Hedges hopes to save the roof and get the bridge back to its old place and for travel in a few days." (The Enterprise)
