North Fork Coquille River
July 3, 1907: "Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received for the construction of a wagon road bridge across the North Fork of Coquille River at its mouth upon the site of the present old bridge across said stream. The said bridge to be covered and to be built upon either piling or concrete piers, and all according to the plans and specifications now on file in the office of the County Clerk of Coos County. All bids to be filed with the County Clerk on or before July 5, 1907, at 10 A. M. and accompanied with a deposit of 5 per cent of the bid to insure integrity of purpose. The Court reserves the right to reject any and all bids. By order of the Court. James Watson, County Clerk." (Coquille Herald)
December 25, 1907: "The high water of last Monday prevented the train reaching Myrtle Point, the bridge near Johnson's mill being covered." (Coquille Herald)
August 26, 1908: "The new wagon bridge being built by the county at the mouth of the North Fork, this side of Myrtle Point, will be finished and ready for use in a week or ten days. It is a large and substantial structure, having a 100 foot span and stringers 168 feet in length. The main portion of the old bridge will be taken up stream, it is said, and used by private parties as a means of crossing in winter months." (Coquille Herald)
