CAZADERO
North Fork Clackamas River
1909 - 1912
May 20, 1909: “A number of workmen have been put on clearing brush away and making roads for the new power site company. It is intended to build a sawmill to cut the timber on the south side of the Clackamas at the power site and a substantial bridge will span the river at this point. Owing to the river bluff being very steep and the river narrow it affords a splendid site for bridge as it will not be necessary to climb down and up again with a heavy grade but the bridge will span the river from bluff to bluff.” (Estacada Progress)
June 20, 1912: “The old Cazadero wagon bridge, built by the P.R.L.&P. Was destroyed by fire last Monday night, the structure being in flames about 10 o'clock. The origin of the fire is mysterious.
The people opposite Cazadero are compelled to go to the bridge at Faraday a half mile below, a distance around of about two miles, in order to cross the river.” (Estacada Progress)
