May 16, 1908: "Notice is hereby given that the county court of Lane county, Oregon, will receive sealed bids for the furnishing of all material and constructing a bridge across the Edwards Slough on county road No. 12, in Section 15, Township 16 S., R. 4 W., said bridge to be an 50-foot span of Howe Truss pattern, to be built according to the plans and specifications now on file in the office of the county clerk of Lane county, Oregon. All bids to be accompanied by a certified check for five per cent, of the amount bid, said bid be filed with the clerk of Lane county on or before 2 o'clock in the afternoon of June 4th, 1908.

July 7, 1908: "The county court sat yesterday for the purpose of opening the bids for the construction of two county bridges over Edwards Slough about a mile southeast of Junction on the road running east toward the river. The 50-foot span was let to W. W. Inman and A. N. Striker for $860. The bridges are both to be completed and opened for travel by October 1 of this year. After the bids were opened and the contracts awarded, the bid of L. N. Roney was received, but it was too late getting there." (Morning Register)
