May 6, 1904: "In the matter of the Chitwood bridge Commissioner Stanton authorized to inspect the bridge and on his acceptance for clerk to draw warrant," (Lincoln County Leader)
January 18, 1907: "In the matter of repairing approaches to the Chitwood bridge at Chitwood. Ordered that the supervisor of road district No. 11 be and he is hereby ordered to examine said bridge and make necessary repairs, and ordered that County Clerk notify him to that effect." October 22, 1915: "The County Court of Lincoln county, Oregon, will receive sealed bids for the construction of the Chitwood bridge across Yaquina river at Chitwood. Bidder to furnish all material.
Bids to be in accordance with plans and specifications now on file in the office of the County Clerk, and the bids must be filed with the County Clerk on or before one o'clock p.m., Wednesday, November 3, 1915. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check amounting to 5 per cent of the bid submitted.
