June 9, 1908: "The county court signed up the contract yesterday for building the 80-foot span bridge across Edwards Slough on the road leading east from the main road, about three miles south of Junction. There were but two bidders, G. W. Breeding at 989.50 and Inman & Striker at $1325. Mr. Breeding got the contract and will start about July 1st. The contracts for the other bridges were not let, as they were too high." (Morning Register)

July 2, 1908: "The county court convened yesterday morning and was busy all day considering road matters and passing bills. They will be in session today and tomorrow and will probably adjourn until Monday to receive open bids for the construction of the two bridges over Edwards Slough, which were some time since let to G. W. Breeding, who threw up the contract and the bridges had to be re-advertised." (Morning Register)
July 7, 1908: "The county court sat yesterday for the purpose of opening the bids for the construction of two county bridges over Edwards Slough about a mile southeast of Junction on the road running east toward the river. The 80-foot span was let to C. W. Thompson, at his bid of $1,190. The bridges are both to be completed and opened for travel by October 1 of this year. After the bids were opened and the contracts awarded, the bid of L. N. Roney was received, but it was too late getting there." (Morning Register)
August 21, 1908: "Two immense stringers for the bridge across the Edwards Slough passed through town hauled by the Eugene Transfer Co.'s teams. They were 12 inches square and were 89 1/2 and 87 feet in length respectively. They were secured near Marcola and could not be shipped by rail conveniently, as they would have had to cover three cars, and it was cheaper and more convenient to haul them by team." (Morning Register)
October 21, 1932: "The old covered bridge on Maple Drive a mile and a half south of Junction City has been torn down and a bridge crew started driving piling Friday." (Eugene Register-Guard)
