July 8, 1937: "Total destruction of a covered wooden bridge on the county road connecting two Silverton highways north of Brush creek school was caused by carelessness in the use of fireworks by Fourth of July celebrants, authorities said." (Corvallis Gazette-Times)
March 27, 1941: "Temporary repairs will be made on the Brush creek b ridge on the Silverton-Sublimity road by the Marion county bridge crew in the near future, County Engineer N.C. Hubbs said Wednesday. Repairs will be sufficient to extend the life of the bridge so long as it is needed, the engineer said, but will not be too extensive because of prospective changes in the road." (Statesman Journal)
