ROW RIVER @ SHARPS CREEK
Row River
June 27, 1896: "At this time the court ordered the clerk to prepare and have published a notice to contractors and builders inviting sealed bids for the construction of a covered bridge, 104 foot span, to be seven feet above high water mark; to be built about 300 yards below the mouth of Sharps Creek, and across Row river, to be received at clerk's office until July 9, 1896." (The Eugene City Guard)
June 28, 1928: "The bridge over Row river at the mouth of Sharps creek has been completed, according to P.M. Morse, county engineer. The bridge replaces the old red bridge built in 1896. It had a span of 105 feet and an approach on the south end of 105 feet and on the north end 38 feet. Joe Damewood, who had charge of the work, has moved his crew half a mile up Row river where another bridge will be built across the stream." (Morning Register)
