CAMP WHITE
Antelope Creek
May 5, 1899: "The honorable county court of Jackson County came out the first of last week and looked at the place where we need a bridge across Antelope creek very badly. They expect to offer proposals for bids for the construction of the bridge next week." (The Medford Mail)
May 19, 1899: "The county court of Jackson County, Oregon, will receive sealed plans, specifications and strain diagrams, together with bids for the building, erection and construction of a covered bridge over Antelope creek, on the Medford and Eagle Point road, the main span of said bridge to be sixty-four feet in length, with a clear roadway of not less than fourteen feet in width, and for the repair of the approach to said bridge; the same to be filed in the office of the county clerk of Jackson County on or before 12 o'clock, noon, of Wednesday, June 7, 1899. The county court reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
At the same time proposals will be received for covering the bridge across Little Butte, near Lake Creek postoffice.
By order of the County Court, made at the June term thereof, 1899. Dated May 11, 1899. Wm. S. Crowell, County Judge." (The Medford Mail)
October 2, 1903: "Capt. West, who is interested in good roads and bridges, is working all the available help he can get at the new Antelope bridge, filling the approaches with rock and fine gravel, so the winter rains will not take the bridge out. The farmers have already donated $24 in work, which has been paid, and still there is much need of work at the same place. Thomas Riley, our county commissioner, donated $7.50." (The Medford Mail)
