April 27, 1916: "Sealed bids will be received by the County Court of Lane County at Eugene, Oregon, until Saturday, the 6th day of May, 1916, at the hour of 1 o'clock p.m., for the construction of a covered wood bridge with approaches across the slough near the Walton place on County Road No. 377, in Sec. 1, Tp. 17 S., R. 4 W., W.M.; the span to be 75 feet and the approaches 45 feet; according to plans and specifications now on file in the office of the County Clerk, Eugene, Ore." (Morning Register)
May 1, 1916: "The second bridge for which bids will be received is located at Yarnell on the Mohawk river. The third bridge is located at Walton and will be built on the loop road below Santa Clara. Both the Yarnell and Walton bridge are to be wooden construction and covered." (The Eugene Guard)
July 14, 1916: "The members of the court on this trip inspected the new county bridge built by W.W. Inman, across Spring creek on the Santa Clara loop road, toward the river. The bridge is entirely completed and the members of the court found that the work was excellently done. It is 80 feet long, covered and rests on wooden bents which are set on concrete foundations." March 1, 1917: "Report of the cost of roads and bridges in Lane county for 1916. Covered wooden bridge near Santa Clara, $1180." (The Eugene Guard)
