FINN ROCK
McKenzie River
1939 - ____
May 7, 1939: "The new bridge across the McKenzie river over which to haul logs from the Rosboro Lumber company's tract of timber on Quartz creek, will probably be built at a point a few yards above the mouth of the creek on the south bank of the McKenzie and a short distance below Finn rock on the north bank, according to P.M. Morse, county engineer. The engineer and Commissioners Walter J. Holland and Cal M. Young inspected several prospective sites Thursday.
There is a wide place in the McKenzie highway at the Finn rock site, affording excellent approach to the bridge on that side and the ground is level on the opposite side, offering no difficulties at all in building an approach.
Logging is expected to be started in the fall or as soon as the bridge and road are built." (The Eugene Register-Guard)

May 16, 1939: "The new bridge to be built across the McKenzie river at Finn rock by the Rosboro Lumber company will be an exact duplicate of the new county span over Fall creek near Pengra, it was decided by T. W. Rosborough, president of the company, Tuesday.
Mr. Rosboroigh and his engineer, Verne Williams, accompanied by County Commissioner Cal M. Young, County Engineer P.M. Morse and County Bridge Foreman Arthur Striker, inspected the Fall creek bridge Tuesday forenoon. This bridge if picked up bodily and moved to the site of the proposed bridge over the McKenzie would be an exact fit in its new location, the county officials said. The county will lend a bridge crew and the foreman for the construction of the bridge." (Eugene Register-Guard)
June 11, 1939: "A piledriver has been placed at the site of the private bridge to be built across the McKenzie river at Finn rock and the work of cutting away a huge boulder for one of the approaches is under way. Right of way difficulties on the south bank of the river have been adjusted. A county crew is building the bridge, being hired by the Rosboro Lumber company, which is erecting the bridge." (Eugene Register-Guard)
June 21, 1939: "The county bridge crew at work on the bridge across the McKenzie river at Finn rock for the Rosboro Lumber company has erected a greater part of the false work, according to P.M. Morse, county engineer. Rapid headway is being made." (Eugene Register-Guard)
August 2, 1939: "Work on the Rosboro bridge will be completed some time this month and the crew employed there will be moved to a new project." (Eugene Register-Guard)
September 17, 1939: "As a celebration for the finishing of the of the bridge over the McKenzie river near Finn rock, by the Rosboro lumber company, employes of that concern will hold a picnic Sunday. A potluck lunch will be served at noon." (Eugene Register-Guard)
