Brummit Creek
July 19, 1898: "County court asks for sealed bids to build a bridge across Brummitt creek on Coos Bay Wagon Road." + "The County Court of Coos County, Oregon, will receive sealed bids, plans, strains, diagrams and specifications until Wednesday the third day of August, 1898, at 9 o'clock a.m. of said day, to build a bridge across Brummitt Creek where the Old Coos Bay Wagon Road crosses said creek in Road District No. 45, said bridge to be about 21 feet high and 14 feet wide and about 52 feet long, and the grade of the approaches not to exceed 18 inc hes to the rod; all material used in this bridge is to be of dry cedar not less than 12 inches in diameter at the butt and clear of sap and substantially driven.
All bids to be filed by the time above mentioned, each bidder to deposit with his bid five per cent of the amount of such bid, to be forfeited to the county if the award is made to him and he fails, neglects or refuses for the period of two days after same is made, to enter into contract and file his bond in the manner required by law and to the satisfaction of this Board of County Commissioners.
