July 21, 1916: "The County Court of Lincoln County, Oregon, will receive bids for repairing the Orton bridge across the Siletz River. Bids to be in accordance with plans and specifications on file in the Clerk's Office and must be filed with the County Clerk on or before 12 O'Clock M. Friday, August, 4th, 1916. R.H. October 6, 1916: "J.C. Altree was over from Orton Sunday. Mr. Altree is making good progress with the repairs on the Orton bridge." (Lincoln County Leader)
October 13, 1916: "J.C. Altree finished his contract on the Orton bridge the first of the week, and has moved his crew and equipment to South Beach where he has the contract for building the port docks and tramway." (Lincoln County Leader)
November 25, 1921: "On the Siletz the Orton bridge was swept away." (Lincoln County Leader)
September 28, 1922: "The Logsden bridge is also well on its way. Mr. Huey has been hauling cords for it the last few days. He has been making from three to four trips a day.
