March 25, 1925: "Expectations are that a span of about 120 feet will be needed for the big new river bridge across the Coast Fork, according to Clinton Hurd, county commissioner. It was believed that a span of 135 feet would be necessary but this is to be cut down, according to present incomplete estimates, the commissioner states. The site of the proposed bridge was inspected by the county court yesterday." (The Eugene Guard)
April 16, 1925: "Calls for bids on the erection of Shortridge bridge soon to be built by the county will be sent out in the near future, according to O.E. Crowe, county commissioner. The county bridge department directed by A.C. Striker is preparing an estimate on this span and if it is less than those presented by private owners the county crew will build the bridge. This bridge will have a span of 120 feet, according to the plans." (The Eugene Guard)
May 6, 1925: "Scott Lyons is getting out timbers for the new Shortridge bridge on the Cottage Grove-London highway." (Morning Register)
May 16, 1925: "As there were no bids from private contractors for the construction of the proposed Shortridge bridge to be erected in Lane county it is probable that the county bridge department will proceed on the work on this project, according to Judge C.P. Barnard of the county court. The county bridge superintendent has estimates prepared on the 120-foot span and this work will be started in the near future." (The Eugene Guard)
May 19, 1925: "Plans are now being drawn up by Arthur Striker, county bridge builder, for the Shortride bridge across the Coast Fork river on the London Springs road." (The Eugene Guard)
June 1, 1925: "Material for the erection of the new Shortridge span to be built by the county crews near London is being moved to the scene of operations, according to Clinton Hurd, county commissioner. Work on the building of the bridge will soon be under way, it is reported." (The Eugene Guard)
July 3, 1925: "The concrete piers for the Coast Fork bridge near London Springs are finished, according to Arthur Striker, county bridge superintendent, and the superstructure will be raised after the fourth. This bridge has a span of 120 feet." (Morning Register)
