____ - 1950
November 11, 1892: "The county court yesterday transacted business as follows: Report of supervisor of road district No 54 accepted and warrant ordered drawn for half the expense on repairs of the Scotts Mills bridge..." (Statesman Journal)
December 13, 1918: "It was quite an exciting moment Wednesday afternoon when a car driven by Gus Semolkie collided with one driven by F.W. Howe, at the Scotts Mills bridge. No one was hurt, but the cars were quite badly damaged." (Statesman Journal)
August 25, 1950: "The county had to arrange emergency repairs on the Scotts Mills bridge, whose service it was stretching out until a new span already under construction is finished. A needle beam under the span broke Thursday morning as a logging truck passed over it. It will be closed for a day or two.
The Scotts Mills bridge trouble was reported by the sawmill owner at that town. County Engineer Hedda Swart investigated Thursday afternoon and made arrangements for the mill to cut a new 20-foot needle beam today..
Abutments for the new bridge, parallel and just north of the present span, have already been started but currently are delayed by lack of reinforcing steel. A steel bridge purchased by the county from the state highway department and formerly located at Baker will be the new span over Butte creek." (Statesman Journal)
