September 15, 1893: "Ordered that $100 be appropriated to protect the Dickie Prairie bridge over Molalla river, and that Sup'r E.P. Carter direct expenditure of the same and that he be authorized to collect and expend subscriptions for this purpose." (Oregon Courier)
September 2, 1920: “Last Saturday the contract to build a new bridge across the Molalla to Dickey Prairie was let to Ed. Olds by the County Court. The price was $6050 and $17 per lineal foot for each of the fifty foot approaches. There was but one other bid, that of Brooks company of Portland. Their bid was $10,984 for the whole job. The work is to be completed by the first of the year.” (The Molalla Pioneer)
September 16, 1920: “The Dickey Prairie bridge was closed Wednesday to traffic and will remain closed for about two weeks during which time a new bridge will be built. The piers are now about built.” (The Molalla Pioneer)
October 14, 1920: “Roy Baker was hit on the head by a falling rock last Tuesday morning while working on the new bridge being built across the Molalla at Dickey Prairie.” (The Molalla Pioneer)
November 16, 1920: "With the water at a high mark in the Molalla river and constantly rising, work on the Dickey Prairie bridge has been halted. The temporary structure that has bridged the river for the use of the construction gang is expected to go out at any minute." (The Oregon Daily Journal)
December 9, 1920: “Ed Olds was in town Wednesday. Mr. Olds has the contract for building the Dickey Prairie bridge. Work of construction will commence the first of the week.” (The Molalla Pioneer)
1920: "Bridge No. 605: 105' Medium Traffic Covered Wood Span, 50 lin. ft. Trestle over Molalla River near Molalla on County Road." (Fifth Biennial Report of the Oregon State Highway Commission)
February 10, 1921: “Gotlieb Feyrer was in Oregon City last Saturday to interview the county court and see if it was not possible in some way to speed up the construction of the Dickey Prairie bridge. It is closed to traffic and the court has stopped the trucks from running over the Schaefer hill. The time expired for the finishing of the bridge on January 1st. But there is no forfeiture of bonds or penalty attached to the failure of contract. This is a very serious matter and the finishing of the bridge should be rushed with all possible speed. There is a crew of four working on the structure.” (The Molalla Pioneer)

April 23, 1921: "Work is progressing on the Dickey Prairie bridge." (The Oregon Daily Journal)
September 15, 1921: “Suit to recover $640 alleged to be due on a bridge contract was filed on last Tuesday, against Clackamas Co., by E.D. Olds.
The complaint avers that the amount sued for is still owing on payment for work in the construction of a truss structure over the Molalla at Dickey's bridge. It alleges that only a portion of the money due for the building of the approaches to the bridge, was paid. Expenses of the suit and attorney's fees are asked in the action.” (The Molalla Pioneer)
