1872 - 1932 & 1932 - Present
1872: "In the fall of 1872 William Matlock built the first covered bridge across the Calapooia at Crawfordsville." (The New Era - 8/7/1941)
March 5, 1891: "The Crawfordsville bridge across the Calapooia was ordered repaired by George Young." (Albany Daily Democrat)
October 11, 1912: "County Commissioner Butler went to Crawfordsville this morning where he will begin work on reconstruction of the bridge across Calapooia river at that place." (Albany Democrat)
April 16, 1932: "This year's work will build the 2.6 miles from Crawfordsville west to the big tree in the road at the Hugh Hughes ranch and will construct a new bridge over the Calapooia river at Crawfordsville. It will call an expenditure of almost $18,000." (Albany Democrat-Herald)
1963: A new concrete and steel bridge replaced the historic covered structure.
