May 5, 1961: "The Hubbard bridge over the Long Tom river is to be moved beginning at 8 a.m. Monday and will be out for about six weeks, County Engineer Curtis Hanson said today.
The 300-foot bridge is being removed to make way for a new wooden bridge that will have a longer span, Hanson said.
A road a mile and a half south of the bridge or one a mile and a half north can be used to cross the river, Hanson said." (Corvallis Gazette-Times)
