November 14, 1928: "Approaching the bridge on a curve they observed another car coming in their direction. The bridge is one of the old-style covered structures and vehicles thereon cannot be seen except from the ends of the bridge. Fleming did not see the approaching car in time to pass, he states, and in making a sudden veer in order to miss the oncoming auto his car struck a portion of the bridge and turned over two or three times. Both occupants were bruised and scratched but not seriously injured. The car was badly damaged and was towed to a Scio garage." (Daily Capital Journal)
September 2, 1938: "Mr. and Mrs. P. Whitehead of Scio claim the distinction of August 30 of driving the first car across the new Hannah bridge spanning Thomas creek about seven miles east of Scio. The new structure was placed by Linn county and was completed this week." (Albany Democrat-Herald)
May 10, 1946: "Logs that fell from a truck driven by W.R. Taylor as he was crossing the Hannah bridge over Thomas creek two miles west of Jordan yesterday struck a truss, broke both top and bottom cords, thus caused the 105-foot span to sag four feet, it was reported today by members of the county court. Accordingly the bridge will be closed while undergoing repair." (Albany Democrat-Herald)
