October 30, 1935: "The Bush bridge was closed Tuesday for repairs and all traffic had to be go around by the Alexander school house to get into Hoskins. The men are still working on the bridge now but it was only closed the one day to traffic." (Corvallis Gazette-Times)
April 29, 1952: "The accident occurred shortly before 3 a.m. as the couple was going home, Deputy Sheriff Aaron Dearing said.
The car left the road at the Bush bridge across the Luckiamute river north of Hoskins, Dearing said, and then crashed into the bridge railing, only narrowly missing plunging into the river. The impact knocked the railing through the covered bridge and onto the approach, Dearing said.
The crash was heard by G.L. Bush, a resident there. Because the bridge was blocked, he had to walk to the residence of Earl Price who went to Kings Valley to telephone for the ambulance.
County road crews today were repairing the damage to the bridge." (Corvallis Gazette-Times)
